An underground storage tank (UST) is a vessel, usually steel or fiberglass, that serves to hold hazardous liquids such as fuels, solvents, or wastes with at least 10% of the tank below grade. The removal or abandonment of an UST is a complex series of construction, demolition, hazardous waste removal, and environmental sampling tasks that require intensive environmental regulation and oversight. APES professionals have extensive experience in UST location, assessment, closure in place, and removal activities.
